As of March 4, 2013 there was a new version of Rule 26 (Hydraulic Fracture Stimulation). Checklist for Rule 26 Form 2 and Form 3 submittals are available. As of November 5, 2012 there were new versions of Rules 11 and Rule 28. Click the "News and Updates" link for more details. Please note that as of March 1, 2013 the minimum fine assessed for operators in violation of our rules and regulations will be $2,500.00.

The Program
Objective of the State Oil and Gas Board is to promulgate and enforce rules
to regulate and promote oil and gas drilling, production and storage so as
to protect the coequal and correlative rights of all owners of interests;
and to promulgate and enforce rules to regulate the disposal of
nonhazardous oil field waste in an environmentally safe manner consistent
with federal and state regulations.
